Portfolio: Metalworking
(click an image on the right to enlarge)
I have only dabbled a bit in metalworking; a lot of wire sculptures and wire jewelry, but only a few sawed-and-soldered pieces. My apologies for the blurry photographs...
I would like to do more in metalworking, as time permits me to take classes in it, or set up a small shop at home. I like jewelry, though I have only ever worked just with metals and as yet have no experience in stone setting. I've also only worked in metal cut from sheets, and have no experience in casting. I know how to do some of those things in theory, having been shown the methods in classes before, but didn't get to try my hand at it.
I like the look of metal objects. I suppose it's easier to design them in a 3-D modeling program, now, as in the digital version of "Aura Storm", but then I can't use the latter to open envelopes. Sometimes I think I'd like to do a little work in a forge, making, I don't know, a personal katana, or some pieces of plate mail, gauntlets, etc., but I don't want to make the impression I'm actually a violent person. I just dig the looks of things like that.
