I've been drawing since I was very little, and even then it involved spaceships and alien creatures. Twenty-some years later, I've managed to pick up a BA in Art from Penn State, and my primary media have become pencils, conté/pastel, some ink, and oil and acrylic paints. I worked some in digital graphics and 3-D modeling and animation in my later college years, but that's another gallery.

Most often my subjects would fall under the Science-Fiction / Fantasy label, but I also like to do a lot of things along the lines of semi-realistic "space art." I studied astrophysics alongside art in college, with a particular emphasis on planets and astrobiology, and my art tends to reflect those interests. Could you tell?

This is probably supposed to be the space for some sort of "Artist's Statement." Well, I'm far from explosive, or out to shock, disgust, incite revolution, etc. I hope that my art inspires or leads to daydreaming of all the wondrous things that are possible. I prefer to be forward-looking and optimistic, rather than critical of the past and present. But for the "artists' community," I guess this will have to do:

"Blah blah blah yakkity yak post-modern deconstruction this and rejection of stereotype that by playing on socially-conditioned insecurites and taboo something or other blah blah yak yak ... "

... and I suppose I should toss a "military industrial complex" in there somewhere, too.
