About the SESE Colloquium Series:
The SESE Colloquium is organized by SESE graduate students. Colloquium topics reflect the diverse interests and research concentrations of SESE's faculty and students — a mixture of geology, geophysics, geochemistry, astrobiology, planetary geology, astrophysics, cosmology, engineering and science education/policy.
We are always welcoming new suggestions for speakers if the person recommending is willing to host the visitor. Please contact a current member of the Colloquium Committee to submit your suggestions.
SESE Colloquium Time/Place:
During Spring 2010, SESE Colloquia will take place at 3:30pm in Physical Sciences H Wing room 153 (PSH 153). Colloquia are followed by a light reception in the PSF first-floor lobby.
SESE students interested in having lunch with the speaker may sign up with our Google Docs lunch sign-up sheet. Lunches are 12:00—1:00pm in PSF 566.
About the SESE Colloquium Committee:
New graduate students are always welcome to join the commitee, as long as they are willing to commit to a one-year minimum of service. Duties of committee members incude gathering suggestions for speakers, sending invitations and confirming dates of visits, as well as day-of tasks such as lunch and reception arrangements, A/V set-up, and so on to keep events running smoothly.
